When I first saw him on a show on T.V.
I fell in love almost Immediately.
Fuzzy ears and those beady little eyes
climbing up in a gum tree . la la la.
He's not a Roo or a Wombat .
A Bandicoot ? no he's far too cute !
He's not a Possum or a Panda,  
he's a just a Koala    la la la ...,

I wanna pet Koala la la la la la la,
I wanna pet Koala la la la la la la,  I wanna pet koala,  I'm gonna call him Jeramy.
I wanna pet Koala la la la la la la,
I wanna pet Koala la la la ,  I'm gonna love he and he gonna love me.

Cats are furry and they warm the soul,
and Dogs always good for a stroll.
Goldfish swim round and round in a bowl,
they have 3 second  memories.
I'm alone and I'm so lonely
I need a friend specially for me
I know his name is gonna be Jeremy.
and he'll be from the antipodes.

I wanna pet Koala la la la la la la,
I wanna pet Koala la la la la la la,  sitting in a gum tree, feedin on some gum tree leaves.
I wanna pet Koala la la la la la la,
I wanna pet Koala la la la ,  He'll be my Koala and keep me company.

I've  been thinking for a day or two.
I think I know what I've gotta do.
I gotta go down to the  Zoo ,
and see if they have any of these.
not a pet rock or a flock of geese !
A Cheshire cat or a Siamese
A Bulldog or a Bichon Frise
they're way too ordinary .
